Saira Holland Fine Art

Saira Holland is an artist working just outside Austin in Cedar Creek, Texas. She studied fine art painting and illustration at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a child of artist parents, she grew up surrounded by creativity. Pouring through art books, reading about artists and visiting art museums were a big part of childhood and as a result, she is inspired by a huge variety of artists, styles and techniques. Now as a mother of two highly imaginative kids, she works hard to make time for their creative endeavors as well as her own.

Saira's art is a graphic blend of surrealism, cubism and art deco with a southwest folk-pop flare. Her painting process is as distinctive as her style, as she works with watered-down acrylic directly on raw wood, allowing the natural grain to show through. Her paintings beautifully depict strong female imagery set against cosmic backdrops adorned with symbols and myth.

Saira's current body of work took shape during the early pandemic. Fueled by a profound desire for human connection, she leaned into her passion for creation to alleviate the collective isolation of quarantine. For Saira, art is transcendental, a doorway into another world where she finds inspiration. With each visit to this creative realm, she constructs her own Temple of Self. Layering memories, experiences, and artistic exploration, her artwork becomes the windows through which we catch glimpses of her expression, and in return, she sees a small part of us. It is in this exchange that true connection is forged.
